Whats what with Reed Diffusers
and Electric Mist Diffusers?

Reed Diffusers are very straightforward…they simply allow the wooden or fibre reeds to draw (or ‘wick’) the oil to evaporate into the air. Be careful not to use too many reeds in small places like bathrooms etc else the aroma may become overpowering…2 or 3 reeds should be fine and if it isn’t just add another one or two. Also don’t be tempted to add else anything else to the Diffuser Oil…if the Oil is good quality to start with you won’t need to do that and if your space needs a bit of a lift simply invert the Reeds exposing the wet end to the air… take care not to spill the Oil as it might stain so its always best to do such things over a sink or towel. Reed diffusers are kind to the environment and are an effective way to diffuse an aroma into the air.

Ultra Sound Diffusers (USD) are very popular and compared with other older types of heat/evaportation units they have better aroma delivering capabilities. It’s worth noting however that USD type Diffusers are not always the best choice…this is particularly so for commercial applications and larger domestic settings. Boles 400ml and 600ml Essential Water based Mist Diffusers are best in these situations as they agitatate the Essential / Mist Oil with water and disperse the resultant tiny particles into via air movement. These scent bearing particals are light enough to rise in the surrounding air and not descend towards the ground as in the case with denser vapour particals produced by USD Diffusers….all this and we havent even mentioned the Air Purification benefits of using Water based Mist Diffusers which are considerable! Professional Aromatherapists, Garden Centres, Hotels and other larger retail/commercial applications would normally choose these Mist Diffusers over USD types.
